Serena Pokemon Anime Cosplay

The first week of August this year my family and i went to the Steel City Con in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Since this would be the first ever convention i ever went to i decided to cosplay as someone and i decided to cosplay as Serena from the Pokemon X and Y anime. There is some slight differences between the game Serena and anime Serena and i chose the anime version because i haven't seen any cosplays of that version.

Overall i think i did a decent job,not absolutely amazing but decent. The skirt gave me a real hard time,but considering i didn't use a pattern it looks pretty good. I made it a bit too big but that's better than too small that's for sure xD. I looked up 2 pleated skirts tutorials on Youtube and a couple really accurate Serena cosplays to get a good idea on how to sew the skirt. The buttons for the skirt are foam pieces that i cut out in that shape and glued the fabric around them. I bought the shirt and cut out the sleeves and sewn it to make it look nice. I made the collar from a pattern but it ended up being too short for the V neck shirt so it looks odd and it really bothers me still. The hat i bought at a Flea market for $3 and i added the ribbon and bow with black fabric that i already had around the house. I absolutely LOVE the hat ! The shoes were actually my mom's that i borrowed lol. I could not find the correct shoes in stores to save my life. I found them online but they were very very expensive. I wish i could have made the cosplay more accurate and not wear my glasses, but i can't see at all without them and i don't own contacts.

Maybe in the future I'll consider doing the Game version of Serena because i made some mistakes in this one that i know how to correct now and make it perfect!
